Happy (early) Birthday and Goodbye!

We were invited by Eaton's teacher (Mr. Nathan) to celebrate Eaton's birthday a bit early.  Eaton had been telling him how disappointed he was that we were leaving just a bit before his birthday, and wouldn't be able to have a party in class. We scheduled it on his last day, so it was a goodbye and birthday party.  Eaton has had a GREAT time at Hayama and will really miss his friends.  It was fun to see Eaton in class.  He was very proud to have us there and introduced us to his class.  He would say, "This is Emi. Everyone say 'Hi, Emi'" He was also very excited to show us around his classroom.

Eaton handed out hats to all his friends first.
 His buddy Saaya

Eaton and his teacher, Mr. Nathan.
We had to wake Emi up (she fell asleep in Hallie's car) and so the first 2/3 of the party she was a grumpster.
He was SO careful delivering each cupcake.  He also ditched his crown for a party hat like his friends.
And we also had to wear the hats...
 How Emi spent some time...

After the party we went down and played at the beach.  Emi loved floating in the bay...
And Eaton wanted to climb the rocks.
After the party and beach we hit our fav Indian Place on Blue Street, Nirvana.  The kids got to sign the wall :)

Happy Father's Day!

We had a nice quiet Father's Day and Wes only had to work until noon...

When he got home the kids were SO exited to give him his cards and gifts (a good mix of homemade and purchased).
The kids both made him crowns, cards and photo collages.

I never really think my kids look alike - but them I saw this no-toothed grin...maybe a little :)
We took the kids down and they played at the park.  It was raining quite a bit the days before and the kids ended up barefoot and soaked...and really happy.

Our Last Saturday

On Saturday we met Wes on base - after he worked a full day by noon.
Emi likes to do it by herself.
Oh the attitude...
"Don't look at me"
Eaton read this whole sign.  He's really funny - he can read quite well, but still doesn't think he can.  He'll say - I can't read, I can just sound words out.
We went to base for a birthday party of one of Eaton's classmates.  It was so fun to see him with his friends.  And Emi quickly adopted his friends as hers.  She was first apprehensive, and hid in the corner. Wes said, I wonder where she gets that...?  There are lots of stories of me hiding behind my mom as a kid.  But she quickly came out of her shell.

This is Eaton's best friend Saaya (pronounced SI-ya).  She lives next door to us, so they ride the bus together and has been in Eaton's class these past 6 months. I love this picture b/c Emi is trying to squeeze in, but is being held back by her brother.

Eaton really stands out with his blond hair and being a head taller...

He had such a good time and was so happy he got to go to the party and they had it before he left.
After the party we hit the outdoor pool that just opened up on base.  It was sunny and 80 degrees and so fun. They have a shallow kiddy pool and a big pool, which had the big climbing toys up.

Smiling while she belly flops...
After the pool we went to a BBQ for the PCS people who are going home soon.  They've all been here every year we have, so it will be weird to have a whole new group when we come back next January! Luckily for us, our good friends the Anthonys have extended, so they'll still be here next year :)

This picture is a few of them trying to figure out if it was possible to get the ball back that bounced over the edge and into the water... FYI - not possible.

Then, we went for dinner and drinks at the Fraser's.  We got home at 10 or so.  Such a full, fun day.
